Team Work Makes the Dream Work

We're a dream team made up of four paid staff who are a mix of full time and part-time (Sam, Lyvia, Amy and James) and an army of awesome volunteers. Seriously kind, generous and fun people who love bringing joy, building community and serving great coffee in Churchill Gardens, Boscombe. 

One of our volunteers summed it up perfectly by saying "we get to serve families out there but we're family behind the counter".

We know that 'team work makes the dream work' and the culture of community starts with us. We support each other, laugh and cry together, and keep ourselves topped up with quality eats so that we can do the same of our community!

Volunteer at Joy Café

We're looking for friendly, enthusiastic people to join our volunteer team! If you can spare just a few hours each week and want to make a real difference in your community, we'd love to hear from you. Volunteering at Joy Café is a great opportunity to meet new people, learn new skills, build confidence and be part of a welcoming team that's helping our community thrive. No previous experience is needed – we'll provide all the training and support you need, and you can even come along for a taster shift to see if it's the right fit for you.
